Your 3-Hour Route, Stop by Stop
Vancouver’s landmarks sit close together. That density is why a short private Vancouver city tour still feels complete. Here is what your chauffeur covers.
- Stop 01
Chinatown and the Millennium Gate
Vancouver’s Chinatown is among the oldest in North America. Its roots run back to the 1880s, when Chinese workers arrived for the Canadian Pacific Railway. The Millennium Gate on Pender Street marks the entrance.
Walk past herbal apothecaries, tea houses and produce stalls stacked with fruit you will not find at home. The Sam Kee Building stands nearby, recorded as the world’s narrowest commercial building.
- Stop 02
Gastown and the Steam Clock
Gastown is where the city started. It carries the name of Captain John “Gassy Jack” Deighton, who opened the first saloon here in 1867. Today it holds galleries, design shops and late-night bars.
The Gastown Steam Clock sits at Water Street and Cambie Street. Built in 1977 by horologist Raymond Saunders, it whistles every fifteen minutes using steam from the city’s underground heating lines. Guests stop here for photos on almost every Gastown tour.
- Stop 03
English Bay and A-maze-ing Laughter
English Bay, also called First Beach, is downtown’s busiest stretch of sand. The Polar Bear Swim runs here every January 1. Summer brings the Celebration of Light fireworks over the water.
A short walk away in Morton Park stand fourteen bronze figures caught mid-laugh. Chinese artist Yue Minjun created A-maze-ing Laughter, installed in 2009. Guests pose between the statues and rarely leave without laughing too.
- Stop 04
Stanley Park
Stanley Park covers 405 hectares of rainforest, seawall and shoreline beside downtown. Your chauffeur drives the park road and stops where it counts, so you spend your time looking instead of walking.
The Stanley Park tour portion takes in the Totem Poles at Brockton Point, the Nine O’Clock Gun, Girl in a Wetsuit, Prospect Point and Hollow Tree. Lions Gate Bridge crosses the water above you toward North Vancouver.
- Stop 05
Canada Place
Canada Place opened as the Canadian pavilion for Expo 86. Its white sails now shape the Vancouver skyline. The promenade gives you harbour views, seaplane traffic overhead and the North Shore mountains in the distance.
FlyOver Canada operates inside the building. Cruise ships dock here too, which makes it the natural pickup point for a Vancouver shore excursion between sailings.
- Stop 06
Granville Island
Granville Island packs more than forty artist studios, galleries and specialty shops under one former industrial roof. The Public Market is the draw, with bakers, fishmongers and produce vendors trading side by side.
Time permitting, your chauffeur can add this stop. Many guests use it for a quick bite before the ride ends.
- Stop 07
Jack Poole Plaza and the Olympic Cauldron
The Olympic Cauldron was lit for the 2010 Winter Games. It rises about 10 metres beside the Vancouver Convention Centre in Jack Poole Plaza. Mountains sit behind it, water in front, which makes the photo work.
- Stop 08
Olympic Village and False Creek
Olympic Village housed athletes in 2010. It is now a waterfront neighbourhood with a wide seawall promenade, marinas and skyline views across False Creek. The oversized sparrow sculptures known as The Birds mark the plaza.
Food and Snack Stops
This Vancouver sightseeing tour does not include a scheduled sit-down meal. Three hours moves quickly, and most guests prefer to keep sightseeing rather than sit in a restaurant.
Granville Island Public Market and Gastown both offer fast, high-quality food you can eat on the move. Tell your chauffeur, and they will build in a short break.
Want a proper lunch instead? Ask when you book. We will trim one or two stops to make room, or suggest the 4-hour package instead.
Pickup Points We Cover

3-hour Vancouver city tour - FAQs
How many stops fit into a 3-hour Vancouver city tour?
Most guests see seven to nine landmarks. Traffic, photo time and walking pace decide the final count. Your chauffeur adjusts the route live to fit everything in.
Can you collect us from a cruise ship at Canada Place?
Yes. We track your ship’s arrival and meet you after clearance. Tell us your sailing name and we plan the pickup around it.
Do we get out of the vehicle at each stop?
Yes, at the main stops. Stanley Park, Gastown and English Bay all include time on foot. Shorter drive-past viewpoints stay inside the vehicle.
Is the chauffeur also a guide?
Your chauffeur shares local background at each stop and answers questions. The commentary is friendly, not a scripted lecture. Certified guides can be arranged for an extra fee.
What is included in the price?
Vehicle, chauffeur, fuel, parking, tolls, taxes and gratuity. Attraction admission tickets and meals are not included.
Can we change the route on the day?
Yes. Tell your chauffeur what you want to swap. The only limit is the clock, so adding a stop usually means dropping one.
Is three hours enough for a first visit?
For downtown, yes. For the North Shore or Capilano Suspension Bridge, book six hours or more.
Do you have wheelchair accessible vehicles?
Yes. We operate an accessible sedan and an accessible van with ramp access. Request one when you book, since availability is limited.
How far ahead should we book?
Two weeks is comfortable. During cruise season, from May to September, book three to four weeks out for weekend dates.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel more than 48 hours before pickup for a full refund. Inside 48 hours, a partial charge applies. Flight and sailing delays are handled case by case.
